The Investors Centre was founded in 2023 with a clear mission: to test UK trading platforms with real money. While other comparison sites simply rewrite marketing brochures or use AI to generate generic summaries, we open live accounts.

We are not financial advisors or bank employees — we are professional platform auditors. We do this across our three pillars: Investing, Trading, and Crypto.
We exist to tell you exactly what happens after you click 'Sign Up'. We test the spreads, we stress-test customer support, and we verify the regulations so you don't have to risk your capital to find out if a broker is safe.
Our Approach
We are a team of three active investors who grew tired of the "hidden fees" and opaque terms that plague the retail trading industry. We realised that the only way to get the truth was to pay for it ourselves.
Since our launch, our team has opened 50+ real-money brokerage accounts, deposited over £250,000 of our own capital to test spreads, withdrawal speeds, and execution, and logged 1,000+ hours stress-testing platforms and customer support lines to see who actually picks up the phone.
We don't just "review" platforms — we break them to see if they are worthy of your trust.
What We Test
Every platform we review goes through the same rigorous process. We open a genuine funded account, deposit real money, execute trades across different market conditions, contact customer support with real queries, and attempt withdrawals. We're testing the complete user journey — not just reading the marketing materials.
For trading platforms, this means measuring actual spreads during live market hours, testing execution speed, and evaluating margin requirements under real conditions. For investment platforms, we assess fee transparency, ISA functionality, and the quality of research tools. For crypto exchanges, we verify security protocols, test deposit and withdrawal processes, and evaluate the range of available assets.

The Investors Centre operates two sister websites, both owned and operated by TIC Investments Ltd:
theinvestorscentre.co.uk — Our UK-focused website, providing content tailored specifically for British investors. This includes UK-regulated brokers, ISA and SIPP guidance, and platforms available to UK residents.
theinvestorscentre.com — Our international website, serving readers outside the UK including the US, Australia, Canada, and Ireland. Content here is localised for each market, featuring region-specific broker recommendations, regulatory information, and platform availability.
Our Editorial Standards & Independence
We are funded by referral fees, but our data is sacred. We maintain a strict separation between our commercial partnerships and our editorial testing.

If a broker fails our security check, hides their fees, or blocks withdrawals during our tests, they do not make our rankings — no matter how much they offer to pay us.
How We Make Money
The Investors Centre is funded by affiliate commissions. When you sign up to a platform through our links, we may receive a referral fee at no additional cost to you. This is standard practice in the comparison industry and is how we fund our testing and content production.
This commercial relationship never influences our ratings. We maintain a strict separation between our editorial team and commercial partnerships. Our testing methodology is applied identically whether a platform pays us commission or not.

Thomas is a Chartered Insurance Institute qualified professional (ACII) with over 12 years of experience across derivatives trading, financial risk assessment, and institutional analysis. His career spans roles in insurance underwriting, financial advisory, and active trading across CFD, forex, and spread betting markets.
At The Investors Centre, Thomas leads our trading platform evaluations, personally executing trades across 35+ platforms to assess execution quality, spread accuracy, and slippage under real market conditions. His institutional background informs our rigorous approach to evaluating margin requirements and regulatory compliance.
Thomas specialises in high-frequency trading environments and risk management frameworks, bringing technical depth to our broker comparisons that reflects genuine market experience rather than surface-level feature lists.

Adam has been an active investor since 2013, building hands-on experience across UK equities, global markets, and cryptocurrency. He founded The Investors Centre to address a specific gap in the market: the lack of genuinely independent, experience-based platform reviews.
As our Senior Financial Platform Analyst, Adam has personally road-tested 50+ UK financial platforms with real money and authored over 200 investment guides. He developed the proprietary scoring methodology used across all our reviews, ensuring that every score is based on data, not opinion.
Adam maintains live, funded accounts across multiple platforms to monitor ongoing performance. His expertise extends from standard Stock & Shares ISAs to complex crypto custody protocols, ensuring our coverage reflects current market realities.
