Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 February 2026 Effective from: 13 February 2026

The short version

We collect minimal data: analytics to understand how people use the site, your email if you subscribe to our newsletter, and whatever you put in our contact form. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't do anything creepy with it. If you want us to delete what we have, just ask.

Who we are

The Investors Centre (theinvestorscentre.co.uk) is operated by TIC Investments Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15242358). Our registered address is Unit Gf4, Eagle House, Great Whelnetham, Bury St Edmunds, IP30 0UN.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, we're the "data controller" — meaning we decide how and why your personal data is processed.

What we collect and why

We only collect data that serves a genuine purpose. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how long we keep it:

Data Why we collect it Legal basis Retention
Analytics data
(pages visited, time on site, device type, rough location by country)
To understand which content is useful and how people navigate the site Legitimate interest 14 months (GA4 default)
Email address
(if you subscribe to our newsletter)
To send you the newsletter you signed up for Consent Until you unsubscribe
Contact form submissions
(name, email, message)
To respond to your enquiry Legitimate interest 2 years, then deleted
Cookie preferences To remember your cookie choices Legal obligation 12 months

We don't collect sensitive personal data (health, religion, political views, etc.). We don't buy data from third parties. We don't build profiles to sell to advertisers.

Cookies

We use cookies — small text files stored on your device. When you first visit, our cookie banner asks what you're comfortable with. You can change your preferences anytime by clicking the cookie settings link in our footer.

Essential cookies

These are required for the site to work properly. They remember your cookie preferences and keep things like the contact form functioning. You can't opt out of these without breaking the site.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

If you consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — which pages are popular, where people drop off, what devices they use. This helps us improve content and fix problems. GA4 data is anonymised and we've disabled data sharing with Google for advertising purposes. Google's privacy policy.

Affiliate links and third-party sites

We include affiliate links to investment platforms and brokers. When you click these links, the destination site may place their own cookies and will have their own privacy policy. We earn a commission if you sign up, but we don't receive any of your personal data from them.

We have no control over third-party sites. We'd recommend reading their privacy policies before signing up to anything.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored with Mailchimp (our email provider, based in the US). Mailchimp is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which provides safeguards for data transferred outside the UK. Mailchimp's privacy policy.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Click it, and you're off the list — we'll delete your data from Mailchimp within 30 days. No hard feelings.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with:

Service providers — Google (analytics), Mailchimp (newsletter), and our web hosting provider. These companies process data on our behalf and are contractually required to keep it secure and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Legal requirements — If we're legally required to disclose information (court order, regulatory request), we'll comply. This has never happened.

International data transfers

Some of our service providers (Google, Mailchimp) are based in the United States. When data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — either through adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or certification schemes like the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

You can ask us to:

  • Access — Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify — Correct any inaccurate data
  • Erase — Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict — Limit how we use your data
  • Object — Stop us processing your data for certain purposes
  • Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent — If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it anytime

To exercise any of these rights, email adam@theinvestorscentre.co.uk. We'll respond within 30 days. There's no charge for most requests, though we may charge a reasonable fee if requests are excessive or unfounded.

How we protect your data

We use HTTPS encryption across the entire site. Access to personal data is limited to team members who need it. Our service providers maintain their own security certifications. We don't store payment details (we don't take payments).

No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect what we hold.

Children

Our site isn't aimed at children under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires it. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when it was last revised. For significant changes, we'll make it obvious — likely a note on the homepage or an email to newsletter subscribers.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first — we'd like the chance to put things right. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
