In my opinion most UK investors ought to leverage their pension first and then invest heavily in stocks and cryptocurrencies since there is no better way of reducing your tax bills. When I have ensured I have laid a strong foundation for my pension, then I will consider the use of a Stocks and Shares ISA and invest in a modest amount of crypto
In my own knowledge it all comes down to how well you can manage your future aspirations with risks involved. In that case I would choose to make my contributions towards pension scheme first and foremost for the sake of tax benefits followed by stock investment and only later cryptocurrency.
