If you want to keep it balanced, you could split the £3,000 per month between the 4.7% cash holdings and the FTSE All-World to start with. You could expect anywhere from 7%-12% annual returns in the all world (or higher, depending on global events) over a 10 year span.
Then once you realise it’s not as scary as it seems (unless you start dabbling in individual stocks or sectors, then it’s a lot different), I’d start moving more over gradually - like a £2k/£1k all world to cash each month and go from there.
@kingpin_479 This is really good advice. Shifting to index funds slowly over a year or so makes the volatility grow slowly so OP can get used to it and comfortable with how index fund investing feels.
@kingpin_479 This is really nice advice. Thank you

New to investing in the UK. My brother and I can save around £3,000/month excluding all the expenses and currently keep it in Trading 212 earning interest of 4.7%. Looking for advice on safe, low-risk investment options for beginners and how others would allocate this money.
Stocks look risky to us and we want to start our investment journey with £3000 every month. We both are 25 years old and 28 years old respectfully
